Burst of Butterflies Included in 12News “Wednesday’s Child” Feature (2017)

In December 2017, Burst of Butterflies Create & Paint Studio was featured in a local news segment by 12News as part of its Wednesday’s Child series, highlighting the story of a young artist finding confidence, focus, and joy through art.

The segment took place inside our Downtown Chandler studio and followed a 14-year-old student during a guided painting experience. The feature showed how step-by-step instruction, patience, and encouragement can help young artists feel successful — especially when learning in a supportive, welcoming environment.

During the story, Burst of Butterflies owner Cheryl Tisland is shown guiding the student through the creative process, demonstrating how art instruction can be adapted to meet individual needs. The segment emphasized how creativity can build confidence, create structure, and offer a sense of accomplishment through hands-on learning.

We were honored to be part of this story and grateful for the opportunity to support a young artist’s creative journey. Features like this reflect what has always mattered most to us: creating a safe, inclusive space where art is about growth, expression, and connection — not perfection.
