Pumpkin Pie Jar: A Creative Hand-Building Clay Workshop

Celebrate fall with a project that looks good enough to eat! In this fully instructed clay hand-building class, you’ll create your own Pumpkin Pie Jar, complete with a textured pie crust, removable “pumpkin filling” lid, and a dollop of clay whipped cream on top.

Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process of building a functional lidded jar from clay while introducing hand-building techniques you can use in future clay projects.

No experience necessary! You’ll learn how to:

• Build and shape the body of your jar
• Create a properly fitting removable lid
• Add texture and dimension to create the pie crust
• Shape the pumpkin pie filling and whipped-cream details
• Smooth, refine, and finish your piece for firing

This class is beginner-friendly while still offering plenty of opportunity to add your own personality and details. Your finished jar makes an adorable piece of fall decor, a fun place to stash little treats, or a handmade seasonal gift.

🎨 Your Painting Session Is Included!

After class, we’ll carefully dry and kiln-fire your Pumpkin Pie Jar. The initial drying and firing process typically takes about two weeks.

Once you’re notified that your piece is ready, return during our regular open studio hours to paint it with your choice of glaze colors. Your painting session and glaze firing are included in the class price, so there is no additional studio fee and no reservation is needed.

After painting, we’ll glaze-fire your piece one final time. Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup approximately 10 days after painting.

One hand-built Pumpkin Pie Jar project per registered participant is included.
